WALDOBORO, ME, July 26, 2018 – Monday, Aug. 6 is the final day to make reservations for the Lincoln County Democratic Committee’s Lobster Bake and Family Fun Day taking place Sunday, Aug. 12 at Cider Hill Farm in Waldoboro.

Lobster dinners include mussels and are available for $40 per person. Grilled hot dog dinners for adults and children are also available for $16 and $10. All meals include corn, potato salad, coleslaw, watermelon, and a soft drink. Jeff Hurd, of The Narrows Tavern in Waldoboro, is providing catering for the day.

This is a popular event and dinners are selling well - but we have a big tent and room for as many who wish to attend so don’t be shy about making your reservation!” urged Geoff Bates, a member of the committee. “Whether you hail from South Bristol or Southport, Dresden or Damariscotta, Whitefield or Wiscasset/Westport Island or any town between, you’ll enjoy this afternoon of fun, food, and great conversation while supporting our strong slate of candidates for the November election.”

Statewide and local candidates have confirmed their attendance, including U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, U.S. Senate candidate Zak Ringelstein, State Representative Mick Devin, State Senate candidate Laura Fortman, District Attorney candidate Natasha Irving, County Commissioner Bill Blodgett, and Sheriff Todd Brackett.

Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate Janet Mills has responded that she hopes to be able to arrange her calendar to attend, as well.

The event will begin at Noon with a Social Hour where guests may purchase beer, wine, and fresh oysters with a variety of condiments. Bean bag games, balloon races, origami crafts will be available for children of all ages. The Oystermen will once again provide a live musical background for the day.

At 1 p.m., the lobsters come off the fire and are served by the candidates. While attendees enjoy their dinners of lobster or hot dogs, the “Treat for Two” excursion to Nebo Lodge on North Haven Island and a 50/50 Share the Pot raffle will be drawn, followed by short speeches by the candidates.
