DAMARISCOTTA, ME, June 24, 2019 – Betsy Wooster, longtime Lincoln County Democratic stalwart and most recently fundraising chair for the Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC), has been named Honorary Chair of the Bake for the 2019 Family Fun Day Lobster Bake, an event she organized for many years. The gathering will take place from Noon – 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Cider Hill Farm in Waldoboro.

Betsy personifies everything that is good about the LCDC,” said Geoff Bates, current Fundraising Chair.

She is welcoming to all, she’s been incredibly generous with her time and dedication to the organization, and she’s incisively articulate about Democratic party values,” he added.

While I appreciate the recognition, I need to make clear that, for me, the best part of fundraising is working with faithful volunteers and meeting the people who attend – they’re who we’re working for! It’s certainly not a one person job but it’s tremendously satisfying when it all comes together,” Wooster commented.

The LCDC will honor Wooster with a toast during the afternoon’s festivities and is inviting friends and associates to sponsor the event in her honor at a variety of levels.

From a reserved table for six to a simple donation of any amount, we have lots of ways to celebrate the service Betsy has delivered to the Committee,” Bates mentioned, “And, of course, if sharing lobsters or hot dogs cooked over a wood fire on a glorious August afternoon sounds good; if you’re interested in progressive, forward-thinking politics and if the idea of engaging in lively conversation with state office-holders is something that appeals to you, you should make your reservations now,” he added.

More information about the event and how to register, details about host/sponsorship levels and ticket options for lobster or hot dog meals, and a current list of candidates and state office holders who plan to attend can be found by visiting http://lincolncountydemocrats.com/lobster or by contacting Geoff Bates at gbbates@gmail.com or 207.644.8776. The last day to make reservations is Monday, Aug. 5.

Funds raised through this initiative will be used for grassroots organizing by the LCDC to promote the nomination and election of candidates who advocate the ideals and principles ensuring an effective, democratic government of and for all the people.
