Welcome to the State of Maine Online Absentee Ballot Request Service

Maine election law provides that an absentee ballot application may not be made available more than 3 months before the election for which the application will be used.

The online absentee ballot tracker service is available for federal and state elections, as the Secretary of State oversees those elections. The Secretary of State’s office does not have oversight authority over local elections.

Many municipalities have local elections coming up this spring or summer. Maine voters should contact their town or city clerk to request their ballot, and to track its status. Contact information for municipal officials can be found here: https://www.maine.gov/sos/cec/elec/munic.html.

Already submitted a request? Check the status of your absentee ballot.
