This Community Conversations event will take a look at November’s referendum Question 3: An Act to Create the Pine Tree Power Company, a Nonprofit, Customer-owned Utility. Do you want to create a new power company governed by an elected board to acquire and operate existing for-profit electricity transmission and distribution facilities in Maine?

Moderated by William “Bill” Harwood, Maine Public Advocate, our panelists include:

Al Cleveland, a community organizer with a focus on democracy reform and campaign manager for Pine Tree Power

Tyler Matz, a labor organizer, electrical worker, and volunteer with Pine Tree Power

Charlotte Warren, a former Maine state representative and member of the Maine Affordable Energy Coalition team

Jim Cohen, a former mayor of Portland, board member of the Maine State Chamber of Commerce, and partner with the law firm Verrill Dana where he practices utilities and energy law on behalf of solar developers, utilities, and consumers

You’ll hear short presentations from both sides and will be able to ask questions of the panelists.

While we welcome a lively discussion, the organizers of the event have zero tolerance for bullying or abusive language.
Attendees who engage in such behavior will be asked to leave.

This event is Free and Open to the Public. Pre-registration is not required.
