LCDC CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: VICE CHAIR

We are looking for nominations for Vice Chair of the Lincoln County Democratic Committee to complete the remaining term ending in January 2025.

Our bylaws state that the Vice Chair is vested with all the powers and performs all the duties of the Chair in the Chair’s absence. As an officer of the LCDC, the Vice Chair is also a member of the Executive Committee and will attend monthly meetings of the Executive Committee and LCDC membership. The exact duties of the Vice Chair vary depending on the needs of the organization and the Vice Chair’s interests, background and skills. In the past, individuals in this role have helped organize LCDC monthly meetings and events, assisted with the campaign in election years, served on one or more of the organization’s standing initiatives, and represented LCDC in various state committees.

Nomination Process

To be included on the ballot, please complete this form before midnight on Friday, February 16, 2024. While nominations from the "floor" will also be accepted, this pre-nomination process will help ensure we have candidate(s) prior to the election meeting.

All nominees will be confirmed after the nomination deadline and before the ballot is finalized.

The election will take place during the February 22 meeting on Zoom. At the meeting, candidates will be asked to share a short statement about why they would like to serve as Vice Chair and what skills and perspective they think they would bring to the position and the Executive Committee. You do not have to attend the meeting to run, although it is recommended. If you cannot attend, you will be asked to share a written statement in advance to be read at the meeting.

LCDC voting members will receive a list of the candidates and the location for the in-person meeting and a link to participate by Zoom before the February 22 meeting.
