The Primary Election determines each party's nomination of candidates for certain federal, state and county offices. Party candidates who are elected at the Primary qualify to appear on the November ballot.Â
Offices included in the 2026 State Primary Election are one U.S. Senator, U.S. Representatives to Congress (both districts), all State Senate districts, and all State Representative districts. In Lincoln County, we'll also elect a number of County officials including, but not limited to, District Attorney, Sheriff, and County Commissioner for District Two (Bremen, Bristol, Monhegan Plantation, Nobleboro, South Bristol, Waldoboro).
Absentee ballot request applications are available through the online Absentee Ballot Request Service or at municipal offices starting 3 months prior. Town offices will take phone requests for mailing ballots and make in-person appointments for voter registration.
