Family Fun Day Lobster Bake | August 7, 2022

Over 150 committed Democrats braved the hottest day of the year and a mid-event downpour in one of our most memorable Family Fun Day Lobster Bakes. Honorary Chair Paula Arsenault was introduced by LCDC Chair Chris Johnson and kicked us off with some inspiring words about the importance of this year’s election.

A trio of legislative leaders offered rousing speeches, calling Lincoln County the “linchpin” in keeping Democratic majorities in Augusta. Speaker of the House Ryan Fecteau of Biddeford, Senate President Troy Jackson of Allagash, and Senate Majority Leader Eloise Vitelli of Arrowsic all spoke and Assistant Majority Leader of the House Rachel Talbot Ross was also in attendance.

We also heard from our slate of Democratic candidates, who have already knocked on thousands of doors to talk with voters. A number of the newly elected officers from Lincoln County’s 16 Democratic town committees were on hand, as were many of the more than 100 volunteers who’ve signed up to help with campaign efforts.

Everyone enjoyed the shade of the tents, oysters provided by Brendon Parsons’ Shuck Station, the music of Laura Buxbaum and Brian Dunn, and certainly one anothers’ company, meeting old friends and making new ones at the Cider Hill Farm site, generously donated by our caterer, Narrows Tavern owner Jeff Hurd.

Sincere appreciation goes out to the FIGs (Fundraising Initiative Group) and all the many volunteers of the day who brought the event to life with their time and attention to detail. Our generous Tricky Tray donors: Susan Bates, Candidate Clint Collamore, Barbara Cray, Ina Demers, Autumn Mahoney, and the Newcastle Publick House ensured we had tempting items for our funky raffle, and Valarie Johnson made sure we sold plenty of chances to win the Treat for Two.
