Rep. Lydia Crafts is running for re-election to the Maine Legislature where she is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources and has been appointed to the Maine Opioid Advisory Council. As the representative of HD46, Lydia supports small business development initiatives, advocates for universal Pre-K, accessible childcare, and child development and early intervention services, defends teachers’ bargaining rights and representation, and champions vocational training. She vows to continue to advance the work on environmental protections and support pathways for government and business to work together to decrease carbon emissions and environmental contaminants. Crafts, who has a Master’s in Social Work from UMaine, lives with her family in Newcastle. She has received endorsements from a number of organizations, including Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund; Maine AFL-CIO; Maine Conservation Voters; and Maine Service Employees Association, SEIU Local 1989. She is running against Republican Merle Parise of Newcastle.
