District 2
Includes Bremen, Bristol, Monhegan Plantation, Nobleboro, South Bristol and Waldoboro
William “Bill” Blodgett has been a resident of Waldoboro since 1961, which is where he raised his two sons and two daughters. He is running for his eighth consecutive term as a county commissioner serving District 2. Bill has a long history of community service, including service as a Captain in the U.S. Army. He served in the Maine House of Representatives from 1975-1981; Maine Board of Environmental Protection from 1981-1990; the Waldoboro Select Board from 1981-1995; Waldoboro Budget Committee from 1995-2018; and the Lincoln and Sagadahoc Multi-county Jail Authority Board of Directors from its founding in 2003 until 2015. He is active in the Waldoboro Lions Club, Waldoboro Historical Society and Waldoboro Food Pantry, and is a Eucharistic minister at St. Bernard’s Church in Rockland. In 2016, Bill received the Waldoboro’s Spirit of America Award for outstanding volunteerism. When re-elected, Bill wants to continue working closely with towns so they get the services they need, such as dispatch services from the Lincoln County Communications Center, law enforcement and animal control from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and recycling services from the Lincoln County Recycling Plant. Bill is running against Republican Henry Simmons of Nobleboro.
