BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine, June 7, 2022 – The Boothbay Democratic Committee invites all Democrats in our region to a local organizing meeting on Sunday, June 26, 2-4 p.m., at the Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor, 66 Montgomery Road in Boothbay Harbor. This meeting is an opportunity to gather and plan for activities to support our candidates in this election year. We as a Democratic community must join hands to discuss our thoughts, our hopes, and our willingness to engage with the process of strengthening our local party to ensure our values are represented in Augusta. Now is the time!

State and local elections have never been more important, and the best way to overcome feelings of helplessness is to connect with other voters and learn about actions that will make a difference. The meeting will also provide the occasion to enlist members who will serve as leaders to coordinate with Dems in the towns of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Southport, and Edgecomb, and with the Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC).

We also wish to remind you to vote in the Democratic Primary on Tuesday, June 14. There are two contested offices on the Primary ballot: State Representative for District 48 (Holly Stover or Tom Moroney), and State Senator for District 13 (Cameron Reny or David Levesque). Our votes will determine the Democratic candidates who will run for these offices in November. If you think that your vote doesn’t count, consider this: In the May 3 Boothbay election, incumbent Bruce MacDonald defeated his challenger to retain his seat as Boothbay’s representative on the superintending school committee, by one vote. Every vote is truly important!

The Town Democratic Committees and LCDC will need the energetic involvement of our community to ensure that Maine stays Blue in this historic election year. Working with your community breathes life into action and gives you a purpose! For more information, please contact Paula Arsenault at paulamragsdale@gmail.com or 207-380-7554.
