  • The LCDC is hosting their biannual Rally for Democracy: A Get Out The Vote Party on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 3-6 p.m. outside at the Wells-Hussey American Legion Post #42 in Damariscotta. Short speeches including remarks by U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree and Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, will begin at approximately 4 p.m. Rain or shine, this family-friendly event also features food vendors, a cash bar, and activities for all ages, including rock painting, giant connect four, a bounce house, and a mini Maine makers market. ...

  • LCDC will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Oct. 24. Our focus will be on our Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts as we gear up for the final push of the election season. We’ll hear from many of our local county candidates, and it will be an exciting time to mobilize and energize for the weeks ahead. Let’s make this a great night—together, we can make a difference in our community! The meeting begins at 7 p.m. and will be in a hybrid format. Participants can join in person at the 2024 LCDC Campaign Headquarters, 27 River Road in Newcastle (across from The Lincoln Home), or via Zoom. This meeting was originally scheduled for Sept. 26....

Executive Director, Democracy Maine and League of Women Voters of Maine, Anna Kellar shared a presentation on the November 5 Ballot Questions. Voter Protection and Access Director for the Maine Democratic Party, Will Hayward shared an Introduction to Voter Protection presentation.
