NEWCASTLE & BOOTHBAY, Maine, Feb. 14, 2022 – The Lincoln County Democratic Committee will host events Saturday, Feb. 19 in Damariscotta and Boothbay to collect voter signatures for Democratic candidates running for governor, the state legislature, district attorney, sheriff, and other offices. Participants will also have an opportunity to talk with candidates, sign up to support their campaigns and join local town committees.
Those seeking elected office in Maine are required to collect a requisite number of signatures from registered voters who are enrolled in the candidate’s party to qualify for the June ballot. On Feb. 19, Democratic candidates and volunteers will collect signatures from Lincoln County registered Democrats at Great Salt Bay Community School in Damariscotta at 559 Main St. from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and at the American Legion in Boothbay at 25 Industrial Park Rd., off of Rte. 27 just south of the Railway Village Museum, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Voter registration information will be available for those who need it. Masking is required.
