Democrats’ Southwestern-Style Bean Supper Cancelled

BOOTHBAY, Maine, March 12, 2020 – Due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) has cancelled the Southwestern-Style Bean Supper and informal concert by Jeffrey Rojo, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 21 at the American Legion Hall in Boothbay.

The Fundraising Committee met and considered all the possible options and decided that a cancellation of the event was the most prudent course of action,” said Geoff Bates, chair of fundraising for LCDC.

As Democrats, we believe the health and welfare of the people must come before the needs of the party or campaigns, even presidential ones. We plan to reschedule or re-envision the event for later in the year and all previously made reservations will be honored for that event. Those who have already purchased tickets may also consider the payment a donation to the LCDC or folks may initiate a refund by contacting me,” he continued. The LCDC uses the money raised through this and other fundraising initiatives to support their local efforts in Lincoln County. Its grassroots mission is to organize volunteers and communicate with voters in support of candidates who believe in the Democratic ideals and principles of government by, of, and for all the people.
