DAMARISCOTTA, Maine, Nov. 7, 2022 – The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) has announced that they will host political journalist Steve Mistler in person for post-election analysis during their final monthly meeting of 2022.
At the writing of this announcement, the outcome of the Nov. 8 election had yet to be determined.
We are thankful and very proud of the good hearted, capable and down-to-earth candidates who stepped forward to run for public office on the Democratic ticket this year,” said Chris Johnson, LCDC chair.
The hybrid meeting takes place on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the American Legion, 527 Main St. Damariscotta, and Zoom. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting promptly at 7 p.m. The LCDC welcomes all Lincoln County registered Democrats and unenrolled voters who voted for Democrats to attend.
Non-voting members must pre-register to participate via Zoom, online or by phone. Anyone who registers will receive reminder emails and can decide to attend in person or online at their convenience. Register at https://lincolncountydemocrats.com/meet.
Mistler is Maine Public’s chief political correspondent and state house bureau chief who specializes in the coverage of politics and state government. He has been a journalist for nearly two decades. His work has been recognized by the Maine Press Association, the New England Newspaper and Press Association, the Society for Professional Journalists, the Public Media Journalists Association and National Edward R. He was named the MPA’s Journalist of the Year in 2011 for his coverage of municipal government for The Forecaster in Falmouth, and later, for his coverage of state government for the Sun Journal in Lewiston.
Mistler became the state house bureau chief for the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram in 2012. After four years with Maine’s largest daily newspaper, Steve made the leap to radio journalism, joining Maine Public in 2016.
Lincoln County registered Democrats who are interested in becoming voting members of the LCDC, should simply indicate their interest in the meeting registration form, whether they plan to attend the meeting or not, to have their name put forward to the membership to vote in on Thursday, Nov. 17. This is the last meeting where new members may be added before LCDC officers are elected in January 2023.
The committee will announce its final gathering for 2022 to be held in December. The previously announced Dec. 3rd date will be changed. Questions may be sent to info@lincolncountydemocrats.com.
