This event is free and open to the public with food and drink being sold directly by the individual vendors including Brother Shucker food truck and Perch Cafe & Bakery. The American Legion will run the cash bar.
Zak and Hudson Kuras’s Damariscotta-based trailer and truck, Brother Shucker, will be shucking a variety of Maine oysters as well as selling other seafood, chicken tacos, burgers, dogs, and vegan options to attendees.
A women-owned and family-run business, the Perch Cafe & Bakery in Waldoboro plans to bring their customers’ favorite scratch-made sweet treats like chocolate chip cookies, molasses ginger cookies and pumpkin bread with hot mulled cider and hot cocoa to sell.
Local favorites, The Gulch, will be the house band for the party playing danceable hits from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The band is made up of Griffin Han-LaLime of Damariscotta (bass/vocals), Corey Redonnett of Damariscotta (guitar/vocals), Michael Sevon of Jefferson (drums), and Chuck Benton of Nobleboro (keyboards/vocals).
As part of an ongoing effort for the organization, the LCDC is collecting the following requested items for the Jefferson food pantry throughout October: toilet paper, canned meat, baby diaper wipes and cereal bars. Donations may be brought to the rally or dropped at the LCDC Campaign Headquarters at 27 River Rd. in Newcastle. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
