ICYMI September 19 Meeting Presentations on State Ballot Questions & Voter Access and Protection

During the September 19 meeting, we hosted two guest speakers. Executive Director, Democracy Maine and League of Women Voters of Maine, Anna Kellar shared a presentation on the November 5 Ballot Questions. The video is below along with links to their slides and resources. Voter Protection and Access Director for the Maine Democratic Party, Will Hayward shared an Introduction to Voter Protection presentation. We do not have video of this presentation to share but you’ll find a link to the slides below.

The agenda also included a campaign update, approval of meeting minutes, and an election of James Sitrick of Jefferson to represent Lincoln County on the Maine Democratic State Committee’s Rules Committee. We also voted in 26 new members. See below for announcements from the Campaign.

Do you live in a high-traffic area in Lincoln County? If so, we’d love to place one of the large, hand-painted candidate signs created by our volunteers in your yard! We have signs for Harris/Walz and all of our legislative candidates. We will notify you in late September when they are ready for display and you can pick them up or we can deliver them to you. Candidate Forums: All Democratic candidates for Maine House and Senate districts that include Lincoln County will participate in candidate forums hosted by local news media, to be held between Sept. 26 and Oct. 10 in Boothbay, Damariscotta, Dresden, Wiscasset, and Waldoboro. Rally for Democracy: A Get Out the Vote Party is Sat, Oct 19, 3-6pm at the Legion in Damariscotta. We have live music, food vendors, a cash bar, a bounce house and other family-friendly activities, and a mini-Maine makers market with a few artisans who specialize in slow or upcycled fashion, found art and jewelry.
