Jordan Wood Launches Campaign for U.S. Senate in Maine

“I’m running for the US Senate because after nearly 30 years, Susan Collins hasn’t changed the system; she’s part of it.”

BRISTOL, Maine, April 23, 2025–Today, Jordan Wood (D) announced his campaign against Senator Susan Collins. Wood, who was born and raised in Lewiston by a teacher and a pastor, has spent the last decade fighting corruption and working to return political power to the people by founding democracyFIRST, a bipartisan pro-democracy organization, working as a Vice President of End Citizens United, and serving as Chief of Staff to a Member of Congress.

“I was born and raised in Lewiston. My dad was a pastor, and my mom a teacher. Now I’m raising my family in Maine. I’ve spent the last decade taking on the powerful and well-connected, fighting to get big money out of our politics and trying to fix a broken system,” said Wood. “This is a make or break moment for Maine. And Susan Collins? She says she’s worried, she’s concerned. Maine needs more than concern. I’m running for Senate because we need a leader who is up for the fight and can stand up to bullies, like we always have in Maine. It’s time for courage, not concern.”

Wood launched his campaign with clear promises to Mainers that can be found on his website:

1. Jordan will never take any Corporate PAC money or lobbyist donations.
2. As a Senator, Jordan will not trade individual stocks, and he will fight to ban all members of Congress from doing so.
3. Jordan will never become a lobbyist and he will not hire anyone who has lobbied for a for-profit corporation in at least the last 5 years.
4. As a Senator, Jordan will publish his meeting calendar so Mainers can know where he is getting his information.
5. As a Senator, Jordan will hold at least one public town hall every three months, something Senator Collins hasn’t done in 25 years.
6. As a Senator, he will not allow his family members or family of staff to lobby the office, because public servants shouldn’t use their position to enrich themselves.

ABOUT JORDAN WOOD
Jordan Wood was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine where his dad was a pastor and mom was a teacher. Jordan earned his degree from Calvin College and moved to Washington, D.C. to begin a career taking on the establishment and battling corruption. Most recently, co-founded and led democracyFIRST, a bipartisan pro-democracy organization dedicated to combating growing threats to the free and fair administration and certification of our elections. He had previously served as Vice President of End Citizens United (ECU)–an organization dedicated to getting big money out of politics by taking on leaders in both parties to refuse corporate PAC contributions.
