21 Aug 2022 Representative Chellie Pingree
Congressional District 1
Includes Cumberland, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and York Counties and parts of Kennebec County
Rep. Chellie Pingree was elected to Congress in 2008, the first Democratic woman from Maine elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. She proudly represents Maine’s First Congressional District in Congress. She is a mother, grandmother, organic farmer, small business owner and has lived on the offshore island of North Haven since she was a teenager. In Congress, Chellie currently sits on the powerful House Appropriations Committee, where she has fought to expand opportunities for working families, protect our veterans and worked to expand access to health care. She serves as the Chair of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. Chellie is an outspoken advocate for Maine families in Congress, as well as for women’s reproductive rights, universal health care and lowering the cost of prescription drugs, combating climate change, fighting economic inequality, and protecting seniors, veterans, and American workers. She is seeking her eighth term in the House. She is running against Ed Thelander of Bristol.
