It’s a place for candidates to meet with the press for interviews or with the public for “meet-and-greets.” And it’s a place for members of the public to stop in and get information about the candidates and questions that will appear on the Nov. ballot. During the heaviest part of campaign season, the office will be open extended hours, seven days a week.

  • Egghead Evening: MLK's Poor Peoples Campaign

    Egghead Evenings are open discussion groups on policy-related or historical topics. They take place on various Monday evenings throughout the summer at the Campaign Office.

    Tonight the group will be joined by Joseph Rosenbloom, author of Redemption: Martin Luther King Jr.’s Last 31 Hours (Beacon Press, 2018). Rosenbloom will be available to sign copies of his newly published book available through most booksellers.

    King’s reputation as a credible, non-violent leader of the civil rights movement was in jeopardy just as he was launching the Poor Peoples Campaign. Author Joe Rosenbloom will lead a discussion on the pressures facing King in his final hours, and what happened to his Poor Peoples Campaign as a result.

    Joe is a summer resident of Boothbay Harbor.
