DAMARISCOTTA, Maine, Aug. 7, 2020- The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) invites the general public to purchase “A Treat For Two” raffle tickets to win a Maine excursion and farm-to-table meal in the historic Turner Farm barn on North Haven Island. The winning ticket will be drawn during the LCDC’s Drive In for Democracy: A Rally for the People on Sunday, Aug. 30 at the Wiscasset Speedway. The winner need not be present and will be notified during the week following the event.

The raffle prize includes round-trip transportation from Rockland to the island, a tour of the farm, a five-course meal, local beer and wine, spectacular twilight views, and lively conversation for two guests. The value of this opportunity is $300.Raffle tickets are $30 each.

The Turner Farm Barn Suppers are managed by The Nebo Lodge. Erin French, founder of [the] Lost Kitchen Restaurant, recommends the Turner Barn experience on her website:

It’s the journey to get there that is three-quarters the fun . . . Make sure to keep an extra eye out for [the Nebo Lodge’s] special event barn dinner events at Turner Farm.

Because the 2020 season has been cancelled, the lucky winner will reserve a dinner for two for an available date in 2021.

The winner of this raffle will treasure their memories of the experience,” shared Valarie Johnson, who has organized the raffle for the past six years. “Where else can a couple have such a unique, enjoyable evening out including a five-course meal, local brew and wine, all on a Maine island for a $30 luck-of-the-draw? Every year I receive great compliments so this is a must have event,” she continued.

More information on the “Treat for Two” raffle including a video interview with Dexter and Juliet Morrison of Wiscasset, who won the raffle two years ago can be found by visiting the LCDC website at https://lincolncountydemocrats.com/raffle.

We had a beautiful ride out. It was a gorgeous evening,” says Juliet, during the interview, “When we arrived it was so spectacular. We were just in awe of the view.”

Dexter adds, “There were probably 40 attendees and everyone there was very interesting. It was just a lot of fun!”

Johnson added, “Purchase your ticket now, because August 30 will be here before you know it! Proceeds will fund our Connecting for Change campaign in the final months before November.”
