BOOTHBAY HARBOR, Maine, Oct. 6, 2023 – The Boothbay Democratic Committee invites all Democrats in our region to a social gathering and meeting on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., at the Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor, 66 Montgomery Rd in Boothbay Harbor. Democrats from Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, South Bristol, and Southport are welcome to join us for refreshments and conversation, as well as remarks from our regional Democratic leaders.

We are pleased that our State Rep. Holly Stover (D48) and State Sen. Cameron Reny (D13) will attend this gathering, to offer a legislative update and brief observations about the latest news from Augusta. Boothbay Region Democratic Committee Chair Lucian Laurie will describe the activities of our local committee over the last year, and opportunities for our participation in the coming election year.

The Democratic Caucus is scheduled for February 2024, and we want to start planning for this important event. Don’t know what a caucus is? We will do our best to explain the purpose, running, and end products of our regional caucus.

After the meeting, we will enjoy social time with appetizers (potluck contributions are welcome, but not required) as we reconnect with familiar friends and meet new acquaintances who share our Democratic values.

Attendees are asked, if possible, to bring a nonperishable food item (preferably protein) or pet food, that will be donated to the Boothbay Region Food Pantry following the event.

This gathering is an opportunity to become better informed about local and state issues affecting all of us and to help work toward implementing progressive solutions. Your involvement and help are crucial. Working with your community breathes life into action and gives you a purpose! For more information, please contact Lucian Laurie at dem.chair.23@gmail.com or 252-241-8865 (leave a voicemail).
