Maine Democratic State Convention Vacancy-Filling Delegate Election to Take Place on April 25

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Maine Democratic State Convention Vacancy-Filling Delegate Election to Take Place on April 25

We are looking for more registered Lincoln County Democrats to represent our county and towns at the Maine Democratic State Convention scheduled for May 31-June 1 in Bangor.

Convention delegates will elect their County’s representatives to the Democratic State Committee, the governing body of the Maine Democratic Party. They also will elect National Delegates, Democratic National Committee Members, and Presidential Electors, as well as debate and vote on amendments to the Maine Democratic Party Platform (our core values) and Charter (the rules that govern our internal Party matters). Delegates will also hear from Democratic leaders, elected officials, and other special guests.

Most delegate voting will take place online before the convention. If you are unable to attend in person, other voting will take place online simultaneously with the live onsite voting. However, the convention will not be live-streamed.

The LCDC is holding a vacancy-filling election during our April 25 meeting.

You do not need to be in attendance to be elected. Any Democrat in Lincoln county may nominate themselves to be a State Convention Delegate but only LCDC members will vote in this election.

Form Deadline: April 24 (nominations may also be taken from the floor at the meeting but this form will streamline the process)
