DAMARISCOTTA, ME, July 24, 2018 – Local candidates are setting up informal meetings with interested voters over coffee and baked goods, nearly every Saturday morning into October, 10-11 a.m. These occur at various locations across the county.

In August, two candidates are confirmed to meet voters at the Lincoln County Democratic Committee’s (LCDC) Victory in 2018 Campaign Office in the Overlook Building at 521 Main Street in Damariscotta. The office is across the street from Round Top Ice Cream in the space formerly occupied by Spectrum Generations.

Confirmed for Aug. 4 is Laura Fortman of Nobleboro, candidate for State Senate District 13, representing all of Lincoln County except for Dresden plus Windsor and Washington. Although this is Fortman’s first campaign for public office, she has served as the executive director of the Maine Women’s Lobby, as Maine Department of Labor Commissioner under former Democratic Gov. John Baldacci, and as Deputy Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division under President Obama.

William “Bill” Blodgett of Waldoboro, a candidate for reelection, will meet with voters at the Campaign Office on Aug. 11. Blodgett is the current County Commissioner for District Two, representing Bremen, Bristol, Damariscotta, Newcastle, Nobleboro (Part), South Bristol (Part) And Monhegan Island Plantation, and Waldoboro. Blodgett is available to talk to you about his past successes and about what the County Commissioners have planned for the future.

Later in August, voters will have a chance to meet up with State House candidates Holly Stover of Boothbay and Jason Putnam of Wiscasset. These locations have yet to be confirmed but information on all Coffee with Candidates Saturdays and other “meet the candidate” activities can be found by checking the LCDC calendar at http://lincolncountydemocrats.com/events.
