LCDC Community Food Relief Drive for April 2025

Healthy Lincoln County is asking for our help stocking the share tables and cupboards throughout the county.

We would like to do this through our monthly LCDC meetings.

In April, we will collect proteins: beans, canned meat and fish, peanut butter, lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, shelf stable tofu (silken tofu in aseptic packaging such as More Nu), oatmeal.

Please bring donations to our next monthly hybrid meeting on Thursday, April 24, starting at 6:30 p.m. for social time at the Newcastle Fire Station, 86 River Rd. You may drop your donation even if you cannot stay for the meeting.

We also commend our town and regional Democratic committees who regularly collect donations for their community food pantries and help yourself stands. In addition to several 24/7 free food stands that stock nonperishable items, there are at least eight food pantries in Lincoln County: Alna, Boothbay, Jefferson, Newcastle, New Harbor, Waldoboro, Whitefield, and Wiscasset.

As LCDC continues its partnership with Healthy Lincoln County, we thank all who have provided assistance with food insecurity through your generous contributions. We look forward to the continued support of our members and friends for this worthy cause.

Thanks to our new project coordinator Ann Schaer for working on this program!
