ICYMI Video of the Oct 27 Meeting | “The Truth: What Our Educators Do” with MEA President Grace Leavitt

At the Oct 27, 2022 meeting, the Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) welcomed Grace Leavitt (she/her), president of the Maine Education Association, who represents nearly 24,000 active and retired educators—teachers and support professionals—in our public preK-12 schools, community colleges, and universities, as well as students who are studying to become teachers. Grace shared “The Truth: What Our Educators Do” with a very engaged crowd. Please enjoy the video below and scroll further to review shared links and to read the latest announcements.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, Nov 17 (the third Thursday instead of our regular fourth Thursday). It will be HYBRID: via Zoom or at the American Legion in Damariscotta. We’ll host Maine Public’s chief political correspondent and statehouse bureau chief Steve Mistler in person for an election recap. Sign up for the Zoom link here. Pre-registration is not required to attend in person but will help us plan and you will receive reminders and the Zoom link in case you can’t make it in person at the last minute.

Note: Portions of this video have been edited so that participants could speak freely and to remove any LCDC business that should not be made public.

Campaign Update:

Get Out The Vote (GOTV)
Lincoln County is one of the state leaders in the number of GOTV shifts we’ve filled, with about 75% of our target shift number met. Great work! We still have about ~50 more shifts to fill. If you haven’t already signed up, please do that and share this link with 3 people in Lincoln County! https://www.mobilize.us/mainedems/event/518275/
