13 Oct 2020 It’s GOTV Time!
From Barb Burt, Campaign Chair
Three weeks to go, everyone. Are you doing absolutely everything you can to make sure our candidates win and the country gets back on the right track? In this weird election season we are already in the GOTV phase—and we do need EVERY POSSIBLE VOTE! Please read on to discover your To Do list for the next three weeks or download one to print or keep on screen.
Best,
YOUR GOTV TO DO LIST

In Lincoln County you don’t need to worry about whether absentee ballots will be counted — our clerks will make sure they are. But there could be a hurricane or snowstorm on Nov. 3, or you could experience a family emergency so bank your vote. VOTE TODAY. Learn more about your options and share your voting plan with us.
CANVASS!
Just in—The Maine Democratic Party is taking VP Biden up on his recent suggestion that we all get out and canvass as we get closer to Election Day. Canvassing is a very effective method for getting every last vote. Of course, canvassing is different this year, but there are trainings to get you prepared. If you want to talk to voters at their doors, attend a training and then sign up for a shift (choose Damariscotta area). Contact Josh at jcaldwell@mainedems.org with questions.
SPREAD THE WORD!
Whether in person, by phone, email or on social media, share reliable voter information and stories about our Democratic candidates so that your friends, family and neighbors are informed voters. On Facebook, add the “LCDC voted” frame to your profile pic!
DO A LIT DROP IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
On Oct. 17, we’ll kick off a countywide “Lit Drop,” meeting at five different locations throughout the county: Wiscasset, Whitefield, Boothbay, Damariscotta, and Waldoboro. We’ll have printed door hangers for you to leave at homes of likely Democratic voters in your neighborhood who haven’t yet cast a ballot. Sign up here to join the Lit Drop Brigade.
JOIN THE LETTER-WRITING TEAM!
Nearly 100 people are writing notes on letters to various target audiences in Lincoln County but we can always use more help. Contact Barb at campaign@lincolncountydemocrats.com to join this team. Letters to the editor with your personal stories about how a candidate shares your values are also encouraged. Sign up here to write your support.
FRIEND BANK!
Talk to neighbors, friends, and family and see how they plan to vote. Then enter that information in the Reach program. Once you’ve “IDed” them, the campaign no longer needs to contact them to confirm their support. This powerful tool allows us to reach many more people than we otherwise would have. To learn more and download Reach, go to https://app.reach.vote/#/j/WWXS9V. For technical help, contact our Maine Democrats Coordinated Campaign organizer Josh at jcaldwell@mainedems.org.
BE A SIGN STEWARD!
We have had enormous numbers of campaign signs destroyed or stolen. This is illegal and the sheriff’s department asks that you report it (207) 882-7332. If you do see a prominent place that needs a sign, check to see what signs are available here. Then pick up the signs at our Damariscotta headquarters: 521 Main St., (up and around behind Subway).
BAG THOSE MISSING VOTERS!
But that’s not all! In the final weeks of the campaign, we’ll be putting together texting and phone banking lists to contact those Democratic-leaning voters who haven’t yet cast their ballots. If you’d like to take part (it’s fun, quick, and easy), sign up here!
