About Pam Swift
Pam Swift is a retired OB/GYN physician turned small-scale farmer running to represent China, Palermo, Windsor, Somerville, and Hibberts Gore in House District 62. She raised sheep, hens, and pigs on her Palermo farm, has served on the Palermo Select Board, and brings a lifetime of listening, problem-solving, and showing up to everything she does.
As a physician, Pam spent her career advocating for her patients — including on some of the hardest decisions families ever face. As a select board member, she helped block an unwanted 160-foot power transmission line through her community, brought Palermo into the Waldo Broadband Corp. to expand rural internet access, and helped turn the Palermo Community Library into a warming, cooling, and charging center for residents during extreme weather. She also writes a quarterly newsletter to keep townspeople informed — because good government starts with communication.
Platform Issues:
Pam’s priorities include universal health care, lowering prescription drug costs, protecting reproductive rights, supporting small farms, and preserving Maine’s natural beauty and people’s property rights. She’s the kind of candidate who can work across the aisle — because, as she puts it, “we all have the same goal: to do what’s best for the people.”
