Pamela “Pam” Swift is a former obstetrician who now runs an organic farm raising sheep, pigs and hens with her husband in Palermo. Her unique combination of healthcare and agricultural experience positions her to represent HD62 as she understands that the well-being of families is fundamentally tied to affordable healthcare, access to nutritious food, and the health of our environment. In Augusta, Swift will advocate for health insurance for all, reduction of the cost of medications, and substance use disorder services. She will also fight for policies that support small family farms, address the threat imposed by PFAS, and reduce the environmental impact on farms as climate change increases production costs. Pam is endorsed by the Maine AFL-CIO, Maine Education Association, Maine Conservation Voters and the Maine Service Employees Association, SEIU Local 1989. She is running against Republican Katrina Smith of Palermo and Independent Lindsey Harwarth of China.
