Maine Senate District 24

Sen. Vitelli of Arrowsic was first elected in a special election in 2013 and is currently finishing her third term. She has served on the Marine Resources, Agriculture Conservation and Forestry, and Energy, Utilities and Technology Committees. She serves as Senate Majority Leader. Eloise has worked to pass legislation that directly helps Maine families, including a landmark renewable portfolio standard bill setting Maine on a path to 100% renewable energy by 2050. She also worked to pass a “Student Loan Bill of Rights,” a drug pricing transparency bill, a local food bill that allows schools to purchase and serve locally grown foods, and the “Make Ready” bill, which lowers the costs for municipalities to create access to high-speed, reliable Internet. Vitelli earned a perfect score from Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund for her 2021-2022 voting record and received the 2019 AARP Rx Price Fighter Award and the Maine Renewable Energy Association Clean Energy Champion Award. She retired after 38 years with New Ventures Maine, a statewide organization that helps Maine people create their own path to a career. Eloise has received a number of endorsements, including from the Maine Conservation Voters; Sierra Club; Maine AFL-CIO; Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund; Emily’s List; Maine Service Employees Union, SEIU Local 1989; and Maine Education Association. She is running against Republican Matthew Brackley of West Bath.
