Been getting those “Less Than 100 Days To The Midterms!!!” emails? I’ll try to use fewer capital letters.
It’s time for the Westport Island Democrats to get together, this time at my home (62 Tarbox Road) on Tuesday, August 7, 6 PM for a potluck. Hoping for good weather, we can sit outside and enjoy the view of the fields and the Sasanoa River while we share good food and conversation. I’ll have a gas grill if anyone wants to cook, as well as paper plates and plastic tableware (we compost, and wash and reuse the tableware).
According to April (our Chair), on our agenda will be preparations for the Labor Day Picnic (that was worth a few capitals, wasn’t it?); a canvasing event in Sept (get out and knock on our neighbors doors, canvas for Holly, Laura, and Natasha); and not to be forgotten, the Fall election. We may have some candidates attend as well, if their schedules permit. Unfortunately, Sasanoa Brewery isn’t ready to provide beer, but you will be able to see where the magic is starting to happen. Coming soooon. Honest.
Please come, bring friends and house guests, come even if you can only stay for part of the time, or will get there late, or don’t have time to bring a dish… We’ll manage. Just come. (But bring a folding chair or you might have to sit on the ground.)
