02 Dec 2020 A look back at 2020 and forward to 2022 | Fundraising Committee
Thank you – all of you– who made an investment in the future with a contribution of any size to the Lincoln County Democratic Committee over the past year. Your collective confidence in our program of local organizing delivered the funds needed to power successful campaigns for multiple candidates – thank you!
I’d also like to publicly thank my fellow fundraisers for their participation on our committee – Barbara Burt, Ina Demers, Donna Denniston, Mike Herz, Katie Huntington, Valarie Johnson, Amy Ruben, Mary Trescot, and Betsy Wooster – you all made the process fun and productive!
Over the past year, in the face of the pandemic and with the fall campaign looming, our group pivoted quickly and by thinking creatively and taking full advantage of the I.T. expertise resident in LCDC,  we hosted a successful, virtual, Frances Perkins Awards Dinner last spring which:
– honored Sheriff Todd Brackett, an important part of the fabric of Lincoln County,
– raised funds for our fall campaign, and,
– perhaps most importantly, enabled us to support restaurants in the area to the tune of more than $3,000 worth of gift cards during a spring season when they needed it most.
The committee demonstrated their creativity again by hosting the summer’s largest in-person gathering of Democrats within the state of Maine. With the generous assistance of a host of volunteers, the Drive-In for Democracy was safe and successful on a variety of levels – a special opportunity for all of us to gather and celebrate our candidates and our Democratic ideals.
The Fundraising team could use your help as we turn our gaze to 2022. Please consider joining our merry band and help us guarantee that recent gains won’t be erased. We’ll need to continue to be flexible, think creatively, and work together to ensure we are ready to support our governor, local representatives and senators in the coming months and we’d love to have you lend your special talents and great ideas to the effort.
