To the editor:
Clint Collamore has been my neighbor for years. On Nov. 8, I hope he will become my state representative as well.
Clint has lived in House District 45 – the district he hopes to serve in Augusta – all his life. He was born in Bremen and for the past 40 years has lived in Waldoboro. Clint has been a voice for people in the fisheries, labor unions, working families, and seniors, and he has done it all while running his own business as a fourth-generation lobsterman. He served for 18 years on the Waldoboro Select Board, working alongside his neighbors to protect the Medomak River, make improvements to town facilities and grow our community.
Like most lobstermen I know, Clint is a lifelong conservationist who believes it’s possible to protect our waters and marine life while also preserving a heritage industry that contributes billions to Maine’s economy. We need someone like him in Augusta, a person who will utilize all available resources to develop solutions to the regulatory and environmental challenges he and others in the fisheries currently face. I believe that is how Clint will face every problem he comes across as our state representative: with an eye toward solutions, not casting about for someone to blame.
Clint will work to address the affordable housing crisis in our area, support measures to rein in prescription drug costs, protect reproductive rights and expand health and mental health care for people with substance use disorder. He’ll stand up for Maine’s teachers, students, workers and families and will fight to protect civil rights and liberties for all Mainers.
I know that Clint will always put his constituents first, which is why he has my vote. Please join me on Nov. 8 and let’s elect Clint Collamore to the Maine House for District 45.
