According to our by-laws, on January 21, during our online meeting, the LCDC membership will elect officers for the next two years. Officers include: Chair, Vice-Chair, Recording Secretary, and Treasurer. We will also elect a Chair’s Designee to the Maine Democratic State Committee (DSC). A description of duties can be found in our by-laws.
We thank the current officers for their leadership during these past two years: Chair Chris Johnson, Vice Chair Lisa Miller, Treasurer James Hatch, and Secretary Marilyn Buhyoff.
A nominating subcommittee has put forth a slate of candidates while nominations from the “floor” will also be accepted during the meeting. This slate along with sample ballots will be available on or before January 14.
We must also fill a Lincoln County DSC vacancy before the DSC election of Maine Democratic Party officers on January 24 (more below).
Voting members of the LCDC must pre-register for the January 21 meeting to receive their meeting access information as well as a special link to the online election site where all votes will be submitted anonymously and tallied live during the meeting. Nonvoting members are still welcome to attend as the election is not the only item on the agenda!
In addition to electing leaders for our county organization, the DSC election takes place on January 24. DSC members will vote on leadership and members of certain committees. You do NOT have to be a current DSC member to run for one of the positions as explained and listed here. The deadline to get on the ballot is Friday, January 15 (you may be nominated from the floor-but you’ll miss out on sharing your info with voters ahead of time). Let’s represent Lincoln County!!
