CANDIDATE FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE HD87
Representing Wiscasset and Alna in Lincoln County, and Pittston and Randolph in Kennebec County

Information provided by the Candidate.

I am running for State Representative because we need someone who values honesty, integrity, and hard work to represent us in Augusta.

My career as a State Trooper was defined by service to others, and I see this as no different.

We need to invest in our children and each other. On the issues, I support expanding access to affordable healthcare, funding for our public schools, and policies that support our small businesses, which are the backbone of Maine’s economy.

I have always been a steward of the land and support responsible use of our state’s natural resources. I manage several large gardens at my home and have a roadside stand to provide fresh local food to my neighbors. For this campaign I am making my own lawn signs with scrap wood from my shed, and after the campaign I will recycle them into the wood stove this winter.

Having lived here my entire life, I understand the challenges that many people face and am aware of the new hardships caused by the pandemic. I’m committed to working with, and for, the people of my district to rebuild our economy, get people back to work, and continue making Maine a great place to live for us and our children.

I am a lifelong resident of my district, growing up in Randolph and later settling down in Pittston.

I am retired from a 25-year career with the Maine State Police, where I received several commendations for outstanding public service. I was a logger and a farmer working on dairy and beef farms for many years before that. I previously served one term as our State Representative from 2012-2014. During that time, I served on the Criminal Justice and Inland Fisheries and Wildlife committees. In all of my work, I’ve seen the importance of hard work and standing up for others.

I am married to my wife, Tammy, and we have four children. I have enjoyed many good years of hunting, trapping, and gardening in the state of Maine.

I am running as a traditionally-financed candidate. Donations can be made online at https://secure.actblue.com/donate/tim-marks-for-house-district-87.
